Behind the scenes: VL x Cadet NY Men's Fashion Show Collaboration!

Posted by Vanessa Perel-Panar on

For New York Men's Fashion Week, Vanessa Lianne had the privilege of collaborating with the brand Cadet for its spring/summer '17 collection runway show.

Cadet is New York's top Brooklyn-based menswear brand, known for its military inspired collection focusing on precision, quality, clean lines and innovative fabrications. Cadet founders Raul Arevalo and Brad Schmidt are CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Finalists 2015, Design Entrepreneur NYC Winners 2015 and International Woolmark Prize US Nominee 2015/16.

The new SS17 collection is inspired by Rome and believe us when we say it is spectacular. It was an honor to collaborate with these very talented designers, and Vanessa Lianne Jewelry was the perfect compliment to their new collection.

For the show, models wore Zephyr Necklaces, Tavion Necklaces, Tavion Rings, Custom Tavion chokers and custom Tavion wrap bracelets. It was beyond inspiring (and a lot of fun) styling the models and getting to be part of such a beautiful show!

Here are some images from the show and behind the scenes. This collection doesn't come out until Spring 2017, but you can shop the jewelry right off the runway now!

Yara Shahidi in Vanessa Lianne Jewelry for Black Girls Rock Featured in Teen Vogue

Posted by Vanessa Perel-Panar on

We had the pleasure of accessorizing the incredible Yara Shahidi for Black Girls Rock! and it was photographed by Jacqueline Harriet and featured in Teen Vogue!
I had such a great time hanging out and helping Yara pick out Vanessa Lianne jewels to go with both of her killer outfits as a presenter for Black Girls Rock!  Yara, who you probably recognize from the hit TV show Black-ish, always looks incredible on and off the red carpet. Her impeccable style is fun, chic, eclectic and always on point. She isn't afraid to take risks and it definitely pays off! It was very exciting when Yara discovered Vanessa Lianne Jewelry and immediately fell in love with the collection. She got the gold Camille diamond necklace for her 16th birthday and wears it everyday! On the show, Black-ish, Yara's character Zoe also wears Vanessa Lianne Jewelry.

It is not just Yara's fashion sense that is inspiring, Yara is a force and uses her star power and wise-beyond-her-years outlook to empower girls everywhere. It has been honor getting to know her and having her wear Vanessa Lianne Jewelry!

Badass Ring Stacks: Colette triple finger ring, Willough Ring, Esme snake ring and Clyde Pave diamond midi ring.

Tips on choosing jewelry gifts for your bridesmaids, groomsmen and bridal party

Posted by Vanessa Perel-Panar on

Weddings are a very busy time with a million little details to take care of. One thing you definitely don't want to forget is to thank your bridesmaids/groomsmen.

Giving a special piece of jewelry is a thoughtful way to commemorate the moment and to show the ladies and men in your life how much they mean to you.

Here are some suggestions for choosing jewelry for your wedding party:

  1. Simple Necklaces - you can choose a different one for each of your bridesmaids that suits their individual style and that they can wear on the special day.
  2. Stud Earrings - are always a classic choice and something that can be worn everyday.
  3. Bracelets - Our Inez diamond bracelet is sweet, delicate and timeless.
  4. Customize it - we make custom ID bracelets and signet rings. Ask us about engraving.
  5. Matching Tie Bars - this extra detail can tie it all together and make the groomsmen feel extra dapper.
  6. Engraved Money Clips - For every guy who carries cash.

5 tips for choosing jewelry for your wedding party:

    1. Think about the style of the person you are gifting. Would they wear this in their day to day life? For instance, if you are choosing necklaces, perhaps choose different metal colors to reflect each bridesmaid's style, making it a little more personal.
    2. Giving this gift on the wedding day can be a lovely way to take a moment to appreciate the important people that are surrounding you. If you want the gift to be worn on the wedding day, make sure the jewelry works with what they are wearing. If necklines are complicated, a bracelet might be a better option.
    3. Don't be afraid to mix and match. Feel free to get a combination of necklaces, bracelets and earrings. If you want to keep it consistent pick different pieces from the same collection. Our Inez or Camille collection has a variety of options.
    4. Consider people that might not be in your wedding party but that you want to acknowledge and thank. Giving them a gift is a good way for them to feel included and special.
    5. Plan ahead. If you want to add a personal touch with customization leave time for things like engraving. We ask 4-6 weeks for custom pieces.
